I think in season recruiting should be added. It would make the game way more realistic. Some will say it is unfair to new coaches, but that's how it is in real life. Coaches that are hired after the season are behind on recruiting, and most recruits sign before season's end. The off season recruiting is entirely too long and drawn out.

Just because its RL doesn't mean it is right for HD.

That said I think that there can be a lot done to recruiting and inseason recruiting could be added but there would need to be additional recruits generated and players getting better / worse after the NT, ie 'senior year grow' or injuries, etc. Otherwise it would likely be too much of a handicap on new coaches, even with simmy recruiting kind of during season too.

I think you could allow phone calls along with FSS.  This doesn't put anyone at a disadvantage, but allows you to at least do something for those HD crackheads.  You could potentially work in a limited number of scouting trips.  Not enough to get a recruit considering you, but just to find out info, so again, new owners or anyone who starts at the normal beginning aren't put at any disadvantage, but people who want to put some research in ahead of time have that option.

I was thinking something along the lines of getting the base amount of recruiting cash at the beginning of the year so you can use FutureStars to scout the states you want, and then depending on your conference's performance in the postseason, you can get a bonus later. This would at least allow you to view potentials and get your targets in order. This doesn't seem to affect the way recruiting works now by a great deal.

If in-season recruiting were to be started, I agree that it would have to be limited in some way.

Why not something as simple as you get to unlock one players potential per game? (or evaluate one player with a scouting trip?) Just throwing things out there...

But really the suggestions forum is a grave yard... Discussions would likely get more hits on the main HD forum.
