Best strategy on the Road. Topic

What is the best way to play on the road? I know this really depends on your team but does anyone have any particular strategy heading into an away game that best suits there team? Just want some ideas.

Its really not that different, except maybe at the upper levels of D1. The better team is going to win most of the time and gameplanning only goes so far.
Just try to exploit any matchups that work in your favor.  In order to pull of an upset, you might to drastically change lineups or distribution that you would normally not do.

So if I go into an away game facing a B- home court team, it's not that much different from a C- home court? or would the C- be more like a nuetral site game since the home value is so low? I may be looking at it all wrong but I do wonder.

It really doesnt mean much at D3 and D2.

Alright thanks

I think it does matter, even at D2 or against a really good D3 team from what I remember.  Go slowdown if you have any doubts.  Shorten the game, keep yourself out of major foul trouble.

Yeah I kind of figured it had something to do with the game if even a little.

agreed with childplease, the best way (and I'm not saying that it will always work) is to learn how to exploit matchups by either concentrating your distribution against weaker players, adjusting your lineup, or both. It takes practice to get good at it, but if you work at it enough, you'll learn how to do it.

yeah I try to do that now... it bites me though sometimes when opponents make lineup changes (child) lol... but I know what you are saying.

But that's no different home vs. road.

The only difference is that, all else being equal, it's obviously harder to win on someone else's home court. If you're at a clear disadvantage, may want to go slowdown. (That said, there may be other factors that could make slowdown less appealing.)

Yeah what is are the drawbacks of running slowdown? I know it conserves stamina and makes your offensive more
efficient but besides scoring less what else
Is a negative?

A) I don't think it makes your offense more efficient.  Or less efficient.

B) If your opponent has stamina or depth issues, you may not want to help them keep their starters on the court extra minutes by slowing the game down.
