Knight grades and SOS/RPI a day behind? Topic

We got mid-term grades after the eighth regular season game today; believe that usually comes after game six or possibly seven.  It's a minor difference, but if you've got some freshman flunking you would want the extra practice or two with SH minutes added.

Also we still have no SOS/RPI data.  I'm sure we've gotten that after RS game eight for many seasons now (formerly was game seven for teams, game eight for conferences, due to the handful of sim teams that had an early off day for scheduling purposes).

So I am just wondering if normal periodic functions such as mid-terms and SOS/RPI are running a cycle late, or if I missed some change in policy.

Every team in the world has to have 7 games played before RPI  comes out.

Usually grades comes after game 7 and RPI after game 8, it's definitely behind by 1 game, I don't know why.

Agreed.  Every team in this world has played seven or eight games.

You can get your SOS if you want it...  Just go to the RPI page.

True.  But wasn't that also available one game sooner in past seasons?

Yeah.  You could get it after game 7.  Dunno why RPI didn't come out after game 8.  Maybe one team in one division somehow didn't play their 7th game until the 9th slot; I have very rarely seen sim teams double scheduled in the past, and I think twice in the past year or so a human coach has had it happen.  It almost always seems to happen in the 10th non-con slot.  So if that went on  it's possible that they had 2 early open slots.

I know every team had played at least 7 or 8 games when I had checked. Probably just a glitch.

How exactly is SOS determined? My SOS is rated 71 and the team with 61 has played a far easier schedule than me.

My opponents average rpi: 102.4
My opponents average sos: 95.2
5 away games

Team 61 opp rpi: 134.3
Team 61 opp sos: 163.5
2 away games

Is this reportable? Or am I missing a key ingredient to sos?

Thanks

SOS stands for strength of schedule. It's calculated as 67% opponents' winning percentage (OWP) and 33% opponents' opponents' winning percentage (OOWP), the same ratio as in the RPI formula.
