Draft Advice Appreciated Please Topic

Got the #2 pick in the draft and it's between these two.  Normally like to take SP but this reliever is pretty good.  Both guys are 21 years old, have $15M budget is both High School and College.  Just looking for input before the draft tomorrow.  Thanks in advance for any positive input, been going back and forth all week.

Normally, SP over relief pitching every day, any day.

If those are the two choices (can't help but think there's more), in a pitcher's park you can get 180IP out of that reliever. Easy. I get 150-160 out of a 74/40, and he's nowhere near his quality.

Ernie Stewart would be your IP example. In the years where I didn't have a better option (seas 16 and 18), he gets innings. And I only pitch em at 100%.

Thanks death, appreciate the advice.  I'm the same way, SP over everything if it warrants it but this relief pitcher makes the case interesting.  I took over a franchise that stopped signing draft picks so I have the #1 pick from last season when I took over, a SP along with 2 other SP that I picked up last season with a 2B already on the ML although only 23 for my only prospects if that matters.  Since I already have 3 very good SP, the reliever would really help the bullpen but I have the mentality of SP first and if not, draft anyway and trade.

The SP ... I wouldn't want to get 180 innings out of a bullpen guy. I prefer a SPs that can go 7+ innings. 37 durability is rare for a SP. He can throw 90-100 pitches every 4th day.

They can both throw about 280 innings. Have no idea where 180 comes from. So given that, I'm definitly taking the more effective RP.
