Messages -

Player A says - School "is the early frontrunner but the family tells us he's not sold."

OR

Player B says - "Some attention from School, but he's keeping his options wide open."

Which of these two players is more likely to be stolen/taken away if everything else is equal?

They're the same.  I'm almost positive that there are only two levels for 1-school WOTS messages: tight and not-so-tight.  Those are both of the not-so-tight variety.

For multi-school messages, there is obviously big leader, narrow leader, or neck-in-neck.  There are multiple wordings for each of the 5 total types of WOTS info, but I'm pretty sure they're completely interchangeable.

Though I think dahsdebater is right, if they aren't the same, I'd guess B is more likely to be stolen/taken away, solely because A) at least lists you as THE "early frontrunner" whereas b) just implies he's getting some attention from your school and hasn't really received attention from anyone else.  With that said, they're still probably equal.

Just some cocky owner who thinks an A+ and a good tournament run or two makes him a national recruiter at D3 so he's going after a bunch of guys more than 1000 miles away from him...  ;-)

Don't worry though, I'm just gonna concentrate my efforts on poaching one of them (hence my question here) so you can still fill your 5 open scholarships with the other 5 guys you have considering you (assuming you hold off Washington & Lee).

Every team should be recruiting nationally. I'm puzzled by why people limit themselves to a 300 mi. radius when D3 is so empty.

Yea, I know. I recruit nationally, too, that's why the wink was there, to show I was kidding around. That said, I do generally try to balance it somewhat - a couple cheap locals and a couple long range guys - so I have the extra $ to battle if need be.

I also try to not have more guys considering me than I have open scholarships, because I feel like that just invites poaching, particularly if one (or more) of those considering guys are way on the other side of the country.

haha, this is probably the first year I wont sign any alaska or hawaii player. I'm pretty sure I have signed more guys from over 1000 miles at Drew than within 300 miles.

It certainly has worked well for you, so kudos. I'm just a bit more conservative I think (though still a far cry from most d3 owners).
