How many IP's saved using Petco over Astrodome? Topic

How many IP's do you think you would save using Petco as your home stadium over the Astrodome?  And also how many PA's would you save per player as well?  Anyone have any guesses or data for this?

50ip
50*4.3=215pa

not as many as the formula suggests

Boog, are you suggesting that each +1 hits factor is worth (or costs) 25 ip?  How much do you think each +1 or -1 is worth in terms of avg?

Does anyone know what the disadvantages are in playing in a "pitchers park" such as Petco or the Astrodome( I don't mean the things that affect both teams)? Are teams in hitters parks working at a disadvantage.   The need for less pitching in these parks seems like an advantage only.  (I only play in moderate "hitters parks")

The only disadvantage is that it's harder to score, so your margin for error in building a successful offense is much smaller.

Thanks jfranco77, but to me that doesn't seem to be enough to offset the additional innings needed and as boogerlips surmised above (215) additional PA's also  needed in a hitters park in a standard OL. I don't know how it could be made equitable by the SIM, but it seems that a pitchers park is the way to go. It doesn't effect MLB because there are no limiting parameters such as salary caps, minor league personnel ect.  One could argue that given the fact that margins of victories will be larger, creating more "meaningless blowout and mop innings" by the team in the hitters park (plug in crash and burn rookie pitchers and bench warming rookie hitters).  If you're using comparatively more than 50 more mop innings and "215" more rest the starter PA''s than the team in a pitchers park then you may actually be at an advantage there. Maybe someday one of the astute math minds here can do a comparative study.

Pitcher's parks, at least those with minus total hit numbers tend to make games a bit more random. But yes those same parks offer an overall advantage of needing fewer PA and IP. This is mitigated somewhat by the 4800PA/ 1200IP minimums.

Ya. Maybe 30.
Never pay attention to player performance, so not sure about the second question.
