I've got a LF:  Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Sergio Morehead with a 71 durability, but at 8M a year I want to maximize the games & a good amount of at bats obviously.  If I set my team's rest at 4/7th (winning) and 2/7th (losing) is it feasible to keep him in the lineup for 150 games if he rests 2 or 3 innings every few games?

Also, what works for player rest for your teams? Is the 7th too early?

I'm almost certain I'd rather not lose a game because I rested a bunch of players for the sake of one.   Maybe you'd be better served sitting him down, manually, every 6 games or so.

I guess I should've added that while Morehead gets rested, there are also 2-3 other position players with low to mid 80 durability that are also rested at that stage that I want to keep fresh.

I'd still rather do it on an individual basis rather than remove 3-4 starters from games that are winnable/loseable.   2 runs in the 7th isn't a big obstacle to overcome.  Nor is 4 in the 7th.  One swing of the fake bat in each situation.

yeah, i think it's a bit aggressive to take his bat out of the lineup down 2 in the 7th.

if you want to have aggressive player rest settings, i'd be sure to not have anybody else set to be rested.  personally i don't use player rest because they never worked right when i tried them a while back, i just set defensive replacements to a 1 or 2 run lead in the 8th to rest a few guys with better defensive players in their lieu.

the guy isn't going to mash LHP so i'd just use more lax rest setting and rest him in about half of your matchups vs LHP.  get a backup COF who hits LHP well and you'll hardly notice he's not in your lineup.

if you look at his splits vs LHP the past few years he's been really bad.

i'd have no qualms just keeping him on the bench as a PH when you face lefties.

I tend to sit 1-2 of my lower DUR against the lower talent teams especially when matched up versus a high ERA SP.

i just get a good bench so that i never have to start a player that i really prefer to not have in my lineup.

+1
Also allows me to not worry so much about low durability player who can really play.

Having a good corners sub and a good up the middle sub who starts one game at each position over every 6-7 day stretch  should allow you to play your best every day  the final 25-30 games of the season.
