I have a pitcher that I put on rest because he was part of a trade that I was about to finalize.  Just before we finalize the trade, he gets hurt for 110 days.  While he is on rest to protect his health!!  I sent in a ticket.  Anyone else ever deal with this?

Yeah, sometimes players get non-baseball related injuries on their off days, I see it happen from time to time. Also, is your pitcher's injury a "surgery" injury? If so, I've also heard that sometimes pitchers get that on off days because they were deciding whether to get surgery or pitch through the pain, and they chose surgery during that cycle.

Definitely sucks but it does happen, just like in real life.

Yes think of it this way, pitcher throws on Thursday. Comes in on Friday feels worse than normal. Sat he is seen by the Dr who says we need to cut.

That's brutal.  He hadn't pitched for four days, so I figured I'd be in the clear.  6.5M starter out for the year and I had a great deal worked out for him.

He didn't like the trade so he opted for surgery. :-)
