Here's an issue I see with this suggestion:
The way it currently works, you have no idea of the quality and depth of the current season draft class until a week before the draft. If a quality IFA shows up before then, you have to make a decision . . . do you go after on the IFA, or do you hold off in hoping for a deep draft class, where I might be able to get a comparable draftee for much cheaper?
If the draftees were unveiled at the beginning of the season, for instance, all the cards are already on the table. The risk is lessened and it's easier for you to make a choice. To me, that's dumbing down the game. For all the complaints about the draft, having some unpredictability with respect to knowing the quality and depth of the draft class until a week before the draft is a good thing.
