I'm currently using the tandem settings :
for tandem 1A/1B
Drysdale  322 R/L IP
Verlander 251 R/L IP
and tandem 1A/2B
Coveleski 314 R/L IP
Stieb 278 R/L IP
I set the autorest at 96, as I thought the SIM would skip the 1A/2A guys when they were overworked - but it is not happening? Did I misread something. DRysdale is down to 45% and Coveleski 42% and it shows th next start going to Coveleski.

Tandem means both guys pitch. Drysdale pitches every other game, and Verlander always relieves him. 

I think you're looking for Starter 1A/1B and 2A/2B, that would mean the rotation goes DD, Stan, JV, Steib, DD, Stan, JV, Steib

Tandem is when you are using two starting pitchers in a game.......your pitch count may be too high for your 'A' starters, and the 'relief' box in advanced settings  might not be checked, so your 'B' starters are not relieving them.......This setting, in theory, will make each pitcher pitch in 81 games, so their pitch count needs to be much lower than they probably are...in this case, you probably only want your Starter A to pitch 4-5 innings, with starter B pitcher 3-4 innings, depending on the rest of your bullpen

I don't see a 1A/1B option in my settings - do I need a cheat code for that ? <hahaha>
- Actually I do want Drysdale and Coveleski to start every other game, but I want Verlader and Stieb to be the first relievers in befor the Sim goes to the bullpen/set-up/closer options.

That's correct , but I didn't think the relief box had to be checked. That part seems to working alright as Verlander always is on after Drysdale and Stieb s the first in after Coveleski. I guess I'll just have to play with other settings. I thought the auorest settings took care of that.

ow does auto-rest work?
		A.	When a pitcher or position player's stamina falls below the number you specified in the advanced settings, the player is treated as though you had marked him as 'rest'. When his stamina goes back above that number, he's again treated according to the role you set for him. NOTE: Auto-rest only refers to stamina percentages AFTER the game is complete - NOT during the game.

The relief box doesn't have to be checked.

Your T1B and T2B will only pitch if they're above their auto-rest.

However, since you have a 2-man rotation, the next guy will always start because there's no other option. So Drysdale will always follow Coveleski even if he's at 40%. But if Verlander is also at 40%, he won't relieve Drysdale. 

Now, if Drysdale (T1A) was at 100% in a bigger rotation, he'd start, regardless of whether the T1B guy was above his auto-rest.

Does that help at all? 

Also, remember what bottomlee said about pitch counts, Drysdale pitching 81 games should be set at something like 55/65.

live by the T die by the T ! T is not for once every other day log ins. B will OFTEN go way less then min. PC if you have good bullpen or long available. I live off of 2x4 T with full 9 strong in bullpen if i can fatigue-wise , AND fyi don't use tandem 1a/b leave it open for spot starting solo's
