Best way to redshirt Topic

I don't usually red shirt a player during recruiting but was wondering if that is the best way? If you put the RS on him during recruiting do you also have to give a certain amount of effort to get the player to be okay with it? Lastly, is it just random between players and it really doesn't matter the effort given? Thanks for any help. I'm tired of trying before the season starts and not get a guy to take it without the WE drop.

I believe (don't know) when notifying to red shirt the usual factors matter. Things like how good the recruit is, how deep he'd be buried in the depth chart, etc. Just to be safe I usually blast the kids with visits, calls, and letters at the same time I'm notifying him of redshirting. I've had kids accept with no extra effort, kids accept with extra effort, and kids reject no matter what.

Kind of what I was thinking. I may start trying it during recruiting to see how that works.

If you get the kid to accept the inform without dropping you, that is the "best" way, because he won't refuse the RS, but I hate to use the inform unless I am so far out in front of all my recruiting that I don't fear late battles or poach attempts. I usually like to save my money and just try to RS them when they all report. If the kid won't take it usually there is another that will.
