PG distribution Question Topic

Does anyone withold distro from the PG regardless of player ratings? Is the player still effective without distro because they are playing the 1 spot? I've noticed that the engine loves to give my PG lots of TO's in some games. I don't think my PG has ever had a game without a TO. He's at about 17% distro right now and his TO avg isn't bad but I'm just wondering if there is anything as a coach I can do to lower his TO's especially in the games that count.

PGs almost always turn it over the most in this game (unless they have virtually no distro and 1 other guy has a TON) just as in real life.  They handle the rock the most, pass it the most, and just generally get the most touches on the team.  More chances for turnovers tends to equate to more turnovers.  Nothing you can really do about that except recruit PGs with better BH/Pass.

alright. but would you consider giving less distro to your pg as a solution to being in a matchup where he might generate a lot of TO's? Is this a good game planning strategy in general or could you just be hamstringing your pg?

My PG, Brian Jan, has nearly identical numbers (stat-wise) at the D1 level as your PG does. He had 10 distro all of last year and with 10 in his only preseason game so far this year he went 5 assists to 0 turnovers (boxscore). I also ran mostly up-tempo last year and ran slowdown in the exhibition game which may make a difference.

he's a really nice PG! I always thought my PG turned the ball over so much because of his low stamina... He only has like 60 stamina and no potential for growth there...
