"Considered by".... apparently not enough to visit Topic

I have a recruit who is considering me, as well as one other team. He rejected the most recent home visit, but he had accepted three previously, at least two of which were before he was considering me. There is also a pending scholarship.

Any reason he rejected the visit? Note that FSS "He's definitely leaning towards playing at ***********" as in not my school.

He rejected the visit because the coach you're up against for the player has placed enough effort into the recruit that his level of interest in you has waned to the point where he won't accept the home visits any longer. You have two choices -- 1. give up trying for this recruit or 2. perform many -- emphasis, MANY -- scouting trips, which will give you an action the player can't reject. If the school you're up against has the kid "definitely leaning" his way on the FSS word on the street, realize that you're quite a ways behind and will need a good chunk of cash to overcome the gap.

I guess I should add to the list above that you could also try a minutes promise or guaranteed start if you want the kid badly enough, but there's no guarantee the kid will accept either and depending how your team sets up, it might not be something that's in your best interest for the season ahead to offer.

If it's the recruit I'm looking at, you're at a disadvantage because the kid is only 40 miles from the other school's campus, so he can match your efforts at a fraction of what it is costing you. (although you do have a bit of a prestige edge...)

i have the prestige edge, and he only has one scholarship, so i'm guessing a little more than $3,000 to spend
with that being said, he probably dumped all of that on him early, and honestly, i was unrealistic with my funds for two scholarships and should've never tried for a dropdown that i'm just not gonna get

i have three recruits that i will be able to get (i think....) because they aren't considering anybody else (as of now), so i'll just choose two from that group and live with what i can get (another mediocre class due to a dumb 6-22 season leading to a prestige drop....)
hopefully i'll get up to an A- or B+ by next season, and can bring in a solid class
might as well promise the start though, because i can have him start, but play only about 10 minutes per game... going to go ahead and try

Don't kids also sometimes randomly reject HVs?  I know they reject CVs but can't recall if they do this for HVs also.  If they do, then it could just be a random rejection and he could very well accept the next HV you send his way.  I don't ever recall having to resort to scouting trips for a kid at my division to get back in his good graces.  I mean, the kid is still considering you right now, it doesn't make sense that he won't accept any HVs from you.

Disclaimer:  It's been a long time since I was at D3, but I think I'm speaking correctly here.

it's weird that he's still considering me... he rejected a guaranteed start, and i called off all of the efforts (but the scholly is still there)

The rejected start isn't a big surprise if you're behind by a decent amount.  But I still think he'll accept HVs.

"considered by" is a joke. Seble needs to show all schools recruiting a player. it would spur much more competition between coaches if we could see who we are battling with on the recruitung trails. this is one thing that needs to change to bring some realistic persepctive to recruiting which is now nothing more than who has the most money or who was the best prestiage.
