I posted this on 11/05/2011:
Here's the player:

Ath- AVG
Spd- HIGH
Reb- HIGH
Def- HIGH
SB- LOW
LP- LOW
Peri- HIGH
BH- HIGH
Pass- AVG
St- HIGH
Du- AVG
FT- HIGH

Came across this player in recruiting and didn't want to let him get away considering his potential in Spd, Def & Peri. My initial thoughts are to bring him along slowly as second-string SF, behind Chester Furtado. But after looking at the mediocre career that Furtado has had I'm thinking about just starting Boren and see what he can do as a frosh. I've never started a frosh and I know there will be some bumps [inconsistency, matchup problems] but I think he'll be solid this season and pretty good down the road.

*Now that the potential is color-coded on the Practice Plan and the Player Profile I was double-checking each attribute and found some major differences between then and now....as Boren shapes up like this:

ATH-Low
SPD-Avg
REB-High
DEF-Avg
SB-Avg
LP-Low
Peri-High
BH-Avg
Passing-Avg
Stamina-Avg
DUR-Avg

Somewhere between his freshman and sophomore season he want from "High" to "Average" in 3 key areas-SPD, DEF & BH. I'm probably nit-picking, but those differences change drastically as to what type of player I projected him to be.  Instead of a potential matchup headache [in my eyes] because of those three "highs" he's basically been reduced to an average, struggling player.

Has anyone else seen this since the updates of last week?

And as always, any constructive thoughts/comments are welcomed.

thats why you send scouting trips to see if they are high-high or low-high.

He was high-high in all three last season when I recruited him...That's why I was asking if anyone had something like this happen.

(1) Are you positive he was high/high in all three?  You should still have the messages.  Some of those messages can be difficult to decipher.
(2) How much did he gain from the moment you recruited him until now?  Do you track your playesr from the first day of freshman year?  Do you track offseason bumps?  Is it possible that he's gained 12 points or so in those three categories since your recruited him?  I would imagine it would be considering you started him 23 games last year.

I'm sure...the message from the scouting report was "tremendous potential" or "tremendous progress" or to that effect on all three skills.

I do have the info on the home computer as far as his progress and will check it after work...don't have that information here at work. Thanks for the insight ike1024-I'll definitely look into it.

Also, p6453, he could've been high-high, which implies about 28+ total improvement. Then if he improved by 9 or more, his remaining improvement is now in the average category. If so, no problem, correct?

Correct, jskenner. Thanks.

No worries, p. He's going to be a very nice player for you.

I've had a similiar shock. Gregory Smith I recruited is a FR SG. He has Average STA (i play press, need the stamina high) as an incoming frosh with 69. Went up to a 70 and the game changed his Stamina rating to red. Then I realize he probably still has 7-10 pts left so will still reach 75-80 over his career.

based on your numbers, he had 6 when you recruited him, and 5 now - and will max around 75 (could be 76)

Just because somebody is hi/hi doesn't mean they have unlimited potential. They could be hi/hi and have a cap of 28 improvement, which means they could get to the point where they are only average pretty quickly.
