Draft pick compensation rule check Topic

Last season I had the #1 pick overall not sign. So this season I had the #2 pick overall. And it looks like this player may not sign.

Your offer has my client's attention, but Craig is considering returning to college for another season. We'll contact you if things change. Until then, we'll consider the offer on the table

I am sure I read that my pick will get bumped to a #3 next season if he does not sign. But a guy in our forum says I will lose the pick.

Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks

You do not get Type D comp for unsigned type D picks.  So if he doesn't sign, you lose.

Unless they have made a change since about 9 seasons ago, you DO get Type D comp. picks for unsigned Type D picks... not saying they haven't made a change, but I researched this in World GD Bryant a couple of weeks ago and we had a team get Type D comp. Picks in back to back seasons, for the same pick (I think it was seasons 11-13 that you would have to look at)

Is there a way to look at that without being in the league?

Found it it was Bryant season 11-13 PHI. Thanks

I stand corrected.  I'm pretty sure that my original claim used to be the case.

I just hope what happend in Bryant is the rule. And not the old rule. I hope the rules are a litle softer in this case to help keep people around. I in MLB I would lose the pick.

willsauve received a ticket response from CS stating he would get another comp pick for the 2nd straight year in World For Life... but you can never really be sure ticket responses are accurate :/
You can view draft history in any world by pulling that world up from the World Select page (http://www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Main/WorldSelect.aspx)
