Just returned to the game from a long hiatus off.

How many regular season days have to pass before I can call a player up from the minors and not lose a year of service time?

20 minor league games.   I think that most leagues have an off day after game 20 in the bigs.

My rule of thumb: if your minor league season starts on a Wednesday on the AM cycle, do your promotions the following Wednesday after the AM cycle.  it's an extra HBD day or two, but it eliminates the confusion about counting days from the equation.
