What happens if I trade for a guy that is on waivers pre-deadline.  If we agree to the trade and he is then someone claims him on waivers is the trade off, do I lose him or does the trade supercede the waiver claim?

If someone claims him, pretty sure he's gone. But why would you trade for a guy you can pick up on waivers?

From the FAQ:

"If the player on the waiver wire is claimed before the trade is processed the trade will automatically be nullified. On the other hand, if the player is placed on the waiver wire and he is not claimed the trade will be processed as normal. Whichever occurs first, the trade completion or the waiver wire claim, will be the official move."

because maybe he's likely to get claimed by somebody with a higher spot.
