How to redshirt? Topic

This is my first season and I recruited a PF with my one scholarship. I currently have 3 seniors at PF, so the freshman won't get much playing time (none so far). It makes sense to me to redshirt him. Foresee any major problems with that?

If not, can somebody tell me how to actually do it. I can't find any button to click, etc. that would make the redshirt happen. Haven't found the answer in the players guide or other help documentation. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

On the office screen, there will be a link next to the kid's name to redshirt him. Click it. You'll receive an immediate e-mail from the assistant coach telling you that the paperwork went through. Within a few hours you'll get an e-mail from the kid either saying he's cool with it or expressing negative sentiments. If he's unhappy about it, check his work ethic...it will have dropped, how much depends on a case-by-case basis..if you're okay with the drop, do nothing (it won't go down further), if it went down too far (like to 1), then you can go back to the office screen and remove the redshirt and get the lost work ethic back. (you're also free to wait a cycle or two and try again...sometimes the kid will accept it later after initially rejecting it. Just remember if he gets into a game at all (regular season, not exhibition) he's unable to be redshirted that year.

That did it - thanks! I had clicked directly to all the sub menus under Office (Depth Chart, etc.) and never found it. We'll see how he reacts.

I've found that I have better luck getting a kid to take a 'shirt if I wait until the exhibition games are over (and don't play him).  Then, if he declines, I remove the 'shirt, wait a game, DNP him and put it back on again.  Using this method I've gotten my last 6 or so 'shirt attempts to take without a problem - usually on the first try.

It also seems to help if I'm already deep at his position, so there are players in front of him.
