I would avoid doing either one of these trades. The problem with the first one is that the guy is offering you three players that you could find relatively cheap off of the Free Agent pile, without having to trade away a valuable asset to get them.  Forget about that. As for the second trade, I like Dennis Patterson quite a bit. He looks like a solid, reliable SP3 to me. But I don’t think Stubby Mays, regardless of what his projections are (which I can’t see, btw), will ever reach the 80-80-80-80 that is an absolute minimum for a shortstop. He is just too old and won’t have enough time to reach them. Those two guys for two all-star relievers and a middle-of-the-rotation starter? I would pass.
However, if you were trying to get younger, a Jose Perez and Doc Ashby for Dennis Patterson trade might not be unreasonable.

+1, except that at DUR 19/ST 65 Patterson is more of a 120 IP SuA guy than an SP.  A pretty solid one, though.

My take on the 2nd trade is its not such a bad deal.  Patterson is a lights out SUA during the reg season, but his dur sta is good enough for him to be a lights out SP in the playoffs.  And thats where it matters most right?  As for Mays, I see him being an easy GG 3Bman for ever and a half, and his bat looks to be improving very very nicely for a 22 yr old.  He might add 10 to 15 pts to the most important batting ratings which combined with his HOF worthy 3b defense could make him a great player overall.  Is it worth giving up your 3 guys?  only you can answer that question because you know where your needs lie.  If this trade is plugging glaring holes that you have then Id do the trade.  If however this doesnt fix glaring holes I wouldnt do the trade.

Ojala is great, and you not only should keep him, but you have got to get him more innings. His stamina is only 24, but the durability is as important, if not more so. His 81 durability means that he can get you quite a few more innings than what he has received. You should either change his role to a Setup A or if you have the option that says "only use closer in save situations" checked, then take it off. He should definitely be able to come in when the game is tied or even when you are behind.

edit: plus his health is 99 so you never have to worry about him getting hurt.

lol hey, I never said they don't get hurt. I just said you don't have to worry about it, like you would for a guy with 50 health.

He was at 99 but the injury is what brought it down to 90.
