What criteria makes up the COY? Does winning COY help your teams prestige? I ask because I went 16-0 in conference to his 15-1 and had a better RPI (17 to 35). Just wondering...thanks for any responses.

The award tends to go to the coach of the team showing the biggest improvement year over year.   I would guess that the other coach had a much bigger jump up to 35, than you did to 17.

COY has no impact on team prestige. I'm not entirely sure but I think it is a factor in terms of jobs though.

That was a question I had if winning National Coach of the Year will help me land a Big 6 job? I am at D2 in Smith at Delta State. Last year, before all of the changes to the engine for Job Changes, I was a longshot for Penn State, and didn't get it. I have made the Elite 8, and hopefully will get to the final 4 tonight. But I wondered if winning National Coach of the Year at D2 would count in my quest to move up to a big 6 team.

I may be wrong. But No. I remember a post saying that all awards are just icing on the cake, have no actual substance to the game.

Still feels good to win NCOY, particularly since I can't win any actual titles...
