Leaving Arizona? Topic

I second hawkfan's proposal, but as an additional favor to me, please go 0-27 for the next 3 seasons first, drop to C+ prestige so I can qualify to take it over :P.

But on a serious note, did you look into recruits from Mexico? There are always a bunch of them and I imagine Arizona has a decent advantage in terms of distance?

I always get a chuckle reading skunk's post. Ofc professor17, with all those D1 titles, have no idea how to recruit at d1...
Don't pretend you aren't the uglyskunk...

Thanks for the input everyone, but I'm afraid it was all for naught! I am not qualified for any jobs better than the bad Atlantic 10 teams. Must be  combination of my A-minus reputation, mediocre record and new hiring logic. I know it's not the rep all by itself, because I'm aware of a case where someone with an A-minus rep was qualified for and got the Indiana job.

My average season over the past 10 seasons: 19-11 with a 38 RPI. Six NT appearances (2 Elite 8's, 2 2nd Round, 2 1st Round), 3 PI appearances (1 Final Four, 1 3rd Round, 1 1st Round).

Looks like I'll be at Arizona for awhile longer yet. With 6 open scholarships this season, I'm probably looking at a couple of down years coming up before I'm competitive again.

Good luck prof. You'll be fine.

I left a very successful Kansas in Phelan to move to Syracuse due to many of the concerns you listed Prof. I have had access to better recruits at Syracuse though that has not lead to better results. Still not sure I made the right call on that one.

I have found that having a larger recruiting pool has made me a somewhat lazy recruiter in that I really enjoy diamond in the rough/project players. At Kansas I had to do that from time to time based on the shallow recruiting pool and the fact that I was boxed in by high prestige schools (Colorado to the west, Iowa to the north, Illinois to the east, and the 2 Oklahoma schools to the south).
