I informed an interested guy of a redshirt and he's no longer interested and declined a scholarship. Can I try going for him again? Is there a chance to remove the redshirt?

I have had success in removing "the inform of redshirt" after a player had a negative response. It took some effort to get back on his considering list after I removed it.

I always send some evals and a hv in the same cycle I inform of the redshirt.  Often times he'll go from ticked off to considering you in the same cycle (happened this recruiting period with Leite, actually).

But you can also do what julius suggested if you can't get him to accept the red shirt.

the offer carries a negative recruiting value. You can overcome it with additional positive effort.

I'm not doubting this but do you have feel for what it would take?  I've never been successful at overcoming without resorting to the inform of non-redshirt option.

All visits get rejected, I would assume you are suggesting that with enough calls and scouting trips you can overcome but I had one player that I offered at least 30 scouting trips and couldn't ever get the player to be considering me again.

there is no standard amount - depends on the prestige of your school and the strength of the recruit.  If the kid is thrilled you would even talk to him, its a slam dunk.  If he is a reach for you to recruit at all, there may be no amount of effort that would get him to take a RS

When I did it I had to inform him of non-redshirt, but not sure if others were able to get them to be considered again without that.
