what is the prestigue multiplier again?

for example - how much more effort does a C+ have to put in to equal a B?

66% more because 2 letter grades?

i think it depends on the division you're recruiting in...eg, @ d3 the difference is minimal.

division 1

if you assume 50% more effort is required for C+ vs. B, I don't think you'd be far off.

A while ago, lostmyth2 put out info on "everything he knew" abou the time he left the game. In that, he thought one full letter grade amounted to about a 1.7 difference, with the effects being cumulative. For example, an A would have a 1.7*1.7= about 2.9 advantage over a B, a 1/3 letter grade advantage would give about a 1.2 advantage, and a 2/3 advantage would give about a 1.4 advantage. And so on. He also thought there could be a difference in prestige of A+ programs, depending on the relative results to achieve it, along with baseline. Hope this helps.

JS, if I'm reading this right, are you saying that a B prestige would have to put in "2.9" times as much effort as an A prestige to be on equal footing.  That seems quite a bit high to me.

Sorry, misprint. I meant an A over a C, B over a D, in orther words 2 letter grades. An A over a B would be 1.7.

1.7 is high, but not unreasonably so

What do you think it is, gil? Do you think it is consistent across divisions? Consisent throughout the prestige spectrum?
