Players who played in their teens and 40's?

Several didn't play as teenagers.  The age/longevity thing seems like the logical place to look.  I looked for some sort of quality/age combination, but couldn't find anything obvious.  Consider me stumped.

Look at the years that they played, not the number of seasons..

Shortest possible chain from the beginning of MLB to the present day?  (With links being defined as "played in the same season")

Yep.  As far as I can tell, this is the only way to get there.  Being only 6 player's away from Baseball's Year-one isn't as cool as being only two generations away from the 10th US President, but it is pretty cool.
