Trolling for the 1993 Progressive Draft and came across Snow. I'll probably be drafting somewhere from 8-15.
He is listed as a switch hitter from 1993-1998 and then as a lefty from 1999-2005?

I feel that would make him a whole lot more valuable early on in his career. As a switch he can platoon/back up in '93-'94 and hand him the job 95-98.
In 99-00, even as a LH, he warrents a starter role.

Then move him into a "full time" platooner from '01-'05

There are a ton of LH hitting players who play first and usually tank @lhp. Snow's odd splits allow for some solid maneuverability during his career. I may  not have a huge hole a 1b, but he's now on my radar.

I did not remember that he came up as a switch and then went straight left.

He did.   I recall when he came to the hometown Giants he was still hitting from both sides of the plate, but switched to just left early in his Giants career. didn't check baseballreference.com, but that may shed some light on your question.

He wanted to make the switch since early on in his career but the coaches wouldn't let him.  Ironically, if I remember right, he was allowed to after Mariners' Randy Johnson  mashed his face with an inside fastball in a preseason game.   Anyway, it's true he "switched" to full time LH.  He looked far more natural hitting lefty.
