Stamina vs Quality Topic

I've got a gameplanning question. If you have a better team than your opponent and higher STA ratings, it makes sense to me to go uptempo. More possessions = better chance that your quality advantage shines through, plus take advantage of fatigue. And if I have the clearly worse team and lower STA, I go slowdown. But what if:

A. I have the clearly better team but worse STA ratings.
B. I have the clearly worse team but higher STA.

Curious how people handle those situations?

My opinion... It's dependent on the scheme. If I have better ratings and I run zone with low stamina, I may go normal or uptempo depending on who I'm playing. I also may run uptempo if I have a core group of guys with 85+ stamina and my avg stamina is misleading. It depends on the situation.

With B, I'd go slowdown -- your higher staminas should translate into your better players being able to stay on the floor for a greater period of time, which is probably where your best bet for an upset lies if you're otherwise clearly worse.

In the case of A, it's probably dependent on how your advantage breaks down. I tend to look at my advantage among the starting five, the difference between the first three guys off the bench and then the roster as a whole. If the bulk of my supremacy comes because I have a stronger bench, then I want to lace them up and run. If my biggest area of edge is toward the top or middle, then I'd go normal.

I'd worry more about the relative qualities of your starters and benches than overall team qualities unless the difference is painfully glaring...
