How long should I wait to move up? Topic

I had my first season last year at naismith and I made the PI and lost in the first round. When do you think I should try to move up?

I'd say spend another 2-3 seasons at D3 learning the game, then make your way up. Learn to recruit, to game plan, and to set your depth charts and practice plans so you know what you like. Then jump to D2.

There is no rush; D1 is hard enough to get to without having to deal with "rookie" mistakes at D2.

I had a similar rookie d3 season and took a d2 job after one year. Hindsight says I should've raised a couple recruiting classes, I'm just starting to feel good about d2 now.

+1.  At least see your first rookie class as juniors, get a feel for how you really did recruiting to know what to do better.

Yea you should wait long enough to know that you can win with your own players rather than just taking over someone elses roster.
