I am new to hardball dynasty and still kinda clueless on a lot of things. What does temper affect in the sim?  Is a high number for temper worse or better?  ie. is a 99 in tember better than a 10?

Thanks in advance.

I believe it mainly effects how players will deal with demotions. I have also heard it is tied into hbp's and the likelihood that a player resigns. The higher the # the worse the temper (I think, don't quote me on that one)

Patience influences whether a potential FA is will to resign.

Oh ok, the demotions thing makes sense then. So basically, it's not much of a factor it sounds like, and almost useless if a guy is never demoted.

Higher temper = more ejections.  Not too much else.

Players with very low temper (<10 or so) are more likely to get hit by the pitch.

How many times do you guys even see ejections? They seem abnormally rare to me..

I have only ever seen one.  My starting pitcher, with a temper of 46, took a called third strike in the third inning and argued and got ran.

Johan Denham

Temper 13.  62 career HBP in 6 seasons.  That's been worth about 16 OBP points for his career.  For a 50 steal leadoff guy, that value is magnified.  But it only seems to work at the extremes.

It should be added, that I've never seen, nor read about anyone getting hurt after getting hit with a pitch.  A low temper is pretty much free OBP.
