I've read stuff on here before about how and why sparky uses certain relievers. Can anyone shed some light on this scenario.
I'm up 6-0 top of the 8th sparky calls in my long B. No runs given up.
Top of the 9th 6-0 sparky calls in my best reliever setup A (I have no closer). Meanwhile there were 2 setup B arms available and a long A.

2 things confuse me.

If sparky thinks the game is close and wants to use setup A to close it out should he not have gone with set up B in the 8th?

Similarly if sparky thinks the lead is large and brings in long B in the 8th, which he did, shouldn't he bring in long A or even setup B to close it out??

Thoughts??

I think sparky brought in the Long B in the 8th because you were up by more than 5.

I don't know why he came out, could his max PC have been reached?  was he pinch hit for?

sparky probably brought in the set up A in the 9th because it was the ninth....I think he would have gone with the mopup if you had one available.   i know that doesn't make sense but I think that is how it works.

He was pulled due to pitch count. It makes no sense to me as to why they wouldn't put in my long A or set up B and save my best reliever for another day.
