Moving up from one DI school to another DI school Topic

Is it worth going from a D baseline school to a C baseline school? Or a B school?

Would I be better off waiting longer and maybe going from a D baseline to a Big 6 conference school? What are the rough requirements for being qualified for doing this? Thanks.

Tough to say.  It depends a lot on the schools current prestige.  Back to back 1st round losses might get you to a C- current prestige B baseline, but you might need back to back Elite 8's to get to a A prestige B baseline.

depends on your situation, if you're likely to be the best team in your conference for the forseeable future, I'd recommend waiting until you are eligible for a Big 6 job. That said, I don't know what you're qualified for so it's tough to say for sure. the loyalty hit from leaving would prevent you from moving again for a few seasons unless you'd been at your current job for 10+ seasons.

They've changed the job requirements but you're going to be looking at a lower end Big 6 job once those become available to you. The big prestige gigs are almost always taken by other Big 6 coaches looking to move to their favorite school or move up in prestige. I'd just focus on making the NT every year and maybe trying to get some guys drafted if you can.

Well I've got two schools in roughly the same situation. Both were conference champs this past season, one made the 2nd round of NT, and the NT has not yet started in the second world but I expect to make it, and probably lose in the 1st round.

I *should* have the best team in my conference in both worlds for next season, which means hopefully another 2 NT berths. After that, both would graduate a lot of players and need a couple more seasons to have a shot at the NT. So after next season, before the rebuild, is when I would be looking to jump to a better conference.

Do you think I would be eligible for a bottom-tier Big 6 conference in another season, assuming I am coming off 2 NT berths and 2 conference championships in each world? And if I am, would that be a better move than going to a job like Marquette or another B prestige mid major?

For your Tark team, you'll probably be eligible for the bottom of the barrel big 6 jobs if you NT again next season. I think your Phelan gig will take a bit longer since you didn't make any postseason play until this year (not your fault obviously, total rebuild), but you're certainly on the right track and have a nice team for a mid major (heck, we may even see each other in the NT). You're probably better off waiting in Phelan for awhile and going through another cycle of 4 years. Try to even out your classes if you can, or if you really can't wait, go for  some 2 years in the interim to try to plug your holes left by departing seniors

cool, thanks for the input

although given that your phelan team is DII.. probably not likely that we'll face off in the NT haha

haha, wsut is my other ID.. I only play in the 2 a day worlds

Gotcha.

How much of a prestige boost is it to get a player or two drafted?

Ugh. I was hoping he would get drafted after his senior year, but he left after his junior season. That's frustrating as hell. Bet there were much better players for big schools that didn't leave early.

So he left my team but isn't listed as being drafted on the team page or under my coach profile. Are those justslow to update?

The draft doesn't happen until after job process.

Yeah I should have known that but never had any reason to pay attention to the draft process before. thanks
