Working link to D-I schools' baseline prestige? Topic

Trying to find what used to be call " Igauna1's study of prestige by D-I school."

The old link cycles back to the page forum main page where the link cycles back to the forum main page, etc.

Anyone have a listing of baseline prestige by school?

Is anybody else bothered by Illinois being an A+?

Not anymore than a dozen other subjective "mistakes".

Fair point.  That one just seems to stick out.

How accurate is this baseline list?

is it impossible to create a Butler from a low level school?

Define what you mean.  If it's make the national championship, any of the "mid-major" conferences can do it... not sure about low DI conferences.

Butler is down. If they slip back into the NIT depths for a couple seasons they'll have been no more than a blip. If they pull off a miracle run and get back there again, maybe you've got something.

I did this list based on the lowest prestige I've seen a program slip to.
It differs a bit from the baseline list provided above.

I mean to create a school that is an A prestige from a low level conference.  I remember there were some guys trying to do it at the CAA a while back.  Did anything happen with that?

Conference USA in Rupp is trying to bring that conference up to the level of that of a BCS conference
Seven seasons in there has been some progress as they finished with the #1 conf RPI and took home the most tourney cash last season.
Still have a ways to go to be considered the overall number one.

there are so few A prestige schools, i think about half those A+s need to drop a notch. or in IL's case, a few notches (i cant really see them as an a- even). i would definitely not put AZ at the A+ level. i think syracuse is another good candidate to drop to an A. if michigan state wasnt so good lately, and WIS obviously cares about that being a factor in baseline, i'd put them at an A too, probably, but I'm fine either way. i just don't see those schools stacking up on the same field as UK/UNC/DUKE/KU. I would even consider dropping UCLA, 1 good decade 30 years ago doesn't make you an A+, IMO. I guess ben howland had them to like, 3 straight final 4s just a bit ago. whatever, i can see them either way.

i would definitely bump indiana to an A too, i mean come on... indiana = a- = BC? i don't think so!!
