Ranked 19 recruiting class in d3 with cabrini... Topic

This is my first ever season, would that be considered a good start, or is it usual to be in the top during recruiting?

Also, when can I findout if I won my exhibition it says it played at 12

Exhititions are usually played between 2:15 and 2:30 EST.

It's better to have a ranked class than not, but don't put too much stock in those rankings

1) The rankings only relate to how the player is NOW and doesn't consider his potential

2) Walk-ons, transfers and JUCOS are counted as if they were freshmen, which can skew your rating

3) Schools with large classes have a better chance of being ranked than the smaller classes.

Recruiting rank doesn't mean anything.  Your class honestly does not look good.  You need much better ATH and DEF, these ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT ATTRIBUTES!!!!  With your big men they NEED to be good athletes! There is a list of mentors on the top of the page, I strongly suggest you get one!  GL

Welcome Pschneider!

No one here really puts any stock in the Recruiting Rankings.  They don't really reflect the quality of the recruits.  It is hard to tell how good your class is without seeing their potential but I would say for a first timer you did pretty good.  As you learn the game you will learn how to get even better.  For instance, it looks like you have a Pressing team and you don't have much speed or defense.  But like I said, not bad for your first time.

Most things here on WIS update in 3 hours cycles: 11, 2, 5, and 8.  You will be able to see your exhibition game results at 2.

Being new, don't hesitate to ask a lot of questions!  Good luck!

I remember my first first recruiting class, seven years ago.  It was one player, a PG.  I knew nothing about the game but I have coached basketball for years.  So I thought "If a guy has a great Work Ethic you can teach him anything."  My recruit had a 99 WE and very little of anything else.  LOL! (I am also 2bounce, Pschneider).

I had to go back and look him up.  Jeffery Woodall.  Averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 Ast for his career.  Not bad.

My first class ever was the #1 class in the country.  That was pre-potential, so it's tough to say whether it was an awful class, but it definitely wasn't good.

How recruiting class is rated. Borrowed from GD, straight from GD developer, Norbert:

Because it was asked for, here is the formula for those points you see besides the recruiting classes for rankings on Collegiate Insider and the recruiting emails.  Not sure where this formula came from or why it is what it is, but this is it:

Points = Average Recruit Value + (Total Recruit Values * 0.1) + Total Stars + (Number of Recruits * 7)

Recruit Value factors in all ratings plus some weighted values on certain ratings based on position.

The upcoming update will not focus on recruiting, so this will most likely not change until an update after this one.

Update: Stars are not used in GD.  It looks like this was copied over from HD and never removed or turned on.  Stars are not shown for recruits because they are never set, and we double checked and there are no hidden Star values.  So you can ignore the Stars in this equation.
