I'm so sick of seeing Elite D1 schools redshirting seniors to plan for their NT championship run in their next season.

Yes, it's good strategy given how the game is set up right therefore I suggest this practice be banned altogether, or at the very least risk the chance of having the kid leave at some point if the redshirt stayed on him. I mean, in real life, an NBA caliber player doesn't just go down to a 1 work ethic and ride pine for a year, HE WOULD WALK (as he should).  

Once these super studs gets maxed out, it doesnt really matter what their WE drops to, so there's really no penalty and therefore no disincentive for coaches to keep using this super cheezy practice.

no, they dont.., they play their senior season with a 1 WE

I think I have seen these players transfer. 

Yeah, I've seen a couple posts in conference threads about this.  I know someone from the Big East in Tark did it (maybe mbalding), but I don't know if the player transferred or not.

I can tell you for an absolute fact that they don't ALL transfer.  I've done it myself with my Duke squad.  Felt dirty about doing it too, but the way my team ended up being set up, I really needed an experienced big man the following season (EE's and whatnot).  I had seen another team in my conference do it (actually two now that I think about it), saw neither of those players transfer and decided to give it a go myself.  His WE dropped to 2, but he stayed for the following season.  All that being said, It's a loophole that really needs fixed.  Badly.

if you all think its a loophole, send seble a ticket and see what he thinks about closing it... it doesn't really bother me personally...

I see it more often in D2 and D3 than D1, really.

I would agree with this, but it's starting to pop up in D1 with increasing frequency.

I can see why it would be more of an issue at the D1 level.  More believable with guys who are never going to be NBA players and aren't in high demand elsewhere.
