Having never coached a press team, I don't know any of the ins and outs.  My question is, would a C with an ath rating over 50 with high potential be a good player if the speed rating is in the single digits and low potential.  It would be a D3 player.    Def, sb, lp and reb would all be good for his level in this scenario.

Speed is very important in the Press. I try to stay above 20 but I will go down to 15 if several other skills warrent it. 15 is my bottom line though.

I agree with Weena, I try to never dip below 20 and if he is below 10 I wouldn't even look at him, unless its a 9 and its high-high and you can redshirt him for a year. But thats a big IF, so a no if he is single digits and low potential.

I agree with swiftwsut.  You just  really don't want to make a habit of it and he must be good in all the other primary attributes for a c.

I would take the 30 SPEED 50 REB guy over the 10 SPEED 70 REB all things other things being equal.

i don't really agree with those declaring a minimum. i mean - i am probably a biggest proponent of speed in the press in the history of HD, ive harped on that well past being blue in the face. back in the day, the #1 priority for my teams was making sure we were super fast to capitalize on the press.

that said, i would NOT hesitate, in d3, d2, or even d1, to sign an otherwise great big with 1 speed. its just not very important, IMO. speed at the 1-3 is vital. speed at the 5, not really. ath is still vastly more important than speed for big men in the press, and you really are not going to notice the impact of 20 spd vs 1 spd at the 5, so i see no reason to set those minimums.

for a big, i would put rebounding as easily worth 3 times as much as speed, and probably more.

Maybe that's why you have all those championships.....
