I know that speed is more important in the FB than other offenses and that speed is more important for guards than other positions.
What I don't know is if speed is relatively more important for guards in the FB than it is for other positions.
Right now I have my first real
team at my new school. Generally, i've had very fast guards (85+) and struggled more to find bigs that can produce in the FB. So far i've had the opposite problem and havn't been able to find guards with elite speed (I don't know if that's due to prestige, not many players in this region, poor recruiting, lack of funds due to having to cut old players, etc...). I like my players to end up with minimums of:
70 speed for guards
50 speed for sf's
30 speed for bigs (sometimes down to 25 depending on need)
Here's how my team's speed breaks down:
Guards: 71 (low)
73 (low)
76 (avg)
70 (low)
58 (avg)
Players I intend on using at SF:
51 (high)
36 (high)
35 (high)
Bigs: 33 (avg)
35 (low)
43 (low)
21 (high)
So, I have poor guard speed, but O.K. team speed. Is team speed or guard speed more important? Is speed more relatively more important for guards in the FB than it is for other positions?
