Does a guy with work ethic between 5 and 7 matter? Topic

How much overall will he go up even if he has like 4 high potential things?

Try to avoid like the friggin' plague.

Unless you're ok with 4 years at basically the ratings he has now, pass.  I've taken a few 1 WE PGs in D3 who had like 70+ BH, PASS, and SPD with decent ATH and DEF and figured I could use them as 4-year backups and it worked out fairly well.  That said, pretty much figure that anybody with single-digit work ethic is never going to be a good starter.

He may improve slightly, but stands a very good chance of losing all his gains during the offseason.   I'd look elsewhere.

I had a guy in the teens for WE with high potential in about 6 categories. In 4 years he went up about 50 points total.

Even guys that have WE in the high 20s and lots of potential won't max out by the time they graduate.

Thats not automatically true, Black.   If you get them allot of playing time early, the WE often raises enough that they are there by their senior year. (we in the mid to high twenties)

the only time this works is when you are taking over a project team... even then i would say the highest anybody should take would be 18 or 19 and make sure that player starts every game his freshman year

You mean the lowest?

And I've had high twenties reach full potential, as good players, on a good team.

I search to WE 28 so I know high 20s can work out...

Reaching full potential and reaching levels that are good enough to play for you are two different things.  The lower the division and the worse your team is the easier the latter is to reach.

consistent with what trenton said, there is no bonus for getting your players to achieve their full potential

if a kid looks like you would want him on your team with his existing level of skills AND if you dont mind slow IQ improvement, then a weak WE can be tolerable
