d1 sim is a D- prestige. d2 team is A+ and only 30 miles away and  2 o'clock cycle FSS shows that recruit is keeping his options wide open. i know the forum consensus is not to do it - but is it possible? (i.e., has anyone successfully accomplished it?) if so, how much will it cost?

It certainly can be done under those conditions.

I've gotten locals from a D1 sim (that's been on him since the start) for as little as $6500.  Then again I've spent almost three times that and failed.
A D1 sim that shows up after signings have started is a lot easier to defeat.

It's certainly possible.  In fact, I've done it several times and actually had to spend alot less than what Iguana mentioned above.  Of course, like him, I've also spent several thousands worth of money and NOT gotten it done either, but it's definitely doable.

Agree with iguana and dcy, I've done it before and that message suggests you have a good chance, but be prepared to spend some cash to secure him.  10-20 evals should get you considered if you have a chance at it.
