The Grandfather of WIS Topic

I just read a great article about sim-baseball and wanted to share...it seems that WIS had its roots in the 1960s.

Wow. A great article, thanks for posting it frazzman80. I have a few reactions:

1) this guy's brother must have had an amazing fastball if he broke a George Sisler bat with it.

2) I would have been here sooner, but like so many, I thought the only "fantasy baseball" to be played was the office-water-fountain version of selecting contemporary players etc. that as the article points out is all most people know. Never interested me, and is not that practical for me living overseas, since it takes enough for me to follow the Yankees, Mets when I can, and watch the occasional other teams on MLB.com if I stay up late enough.

3) Unfortunately, we can tell this genius what happens in the B.Bonds/Addie Joss match-up before he gets to heaven. A ground out most likely.

4) The Dallas Cowboys and K.C. Chiefs must have been using different computers in the 1970s, judging from the results.

5) I would like to track down this guy's article about chance - good point about the bugs hitting the baseball etc. ask Joba Chamberlain.
