Signed off the IFA scrap heap in S18.   Played a little in S19.  Didn't play at all in S20-21.   I'm assuming I buried him on the inactive list.   1B without a note, which I use to determine prospects, could leave them on the inactive list all year as they're just bodies.  However, he only has two pro seasons and improved a little in both seasons.    Inactive list should still count as a season.

Yep.  If he's a minor leaguer and he doesn't play, he doesn't incur any pro service time.  But if he appeared in one game, he'd get a year.

I assume that's confirmed.   Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Heath Felsen has the same thing.

So, if you want to manipulate rosters, you can put a 5 year pro(who is probably fully developed) on the inactive list all season and he will not be a FA the next season even if you don't put him on your 40.  Then you can add him to the 40 to protect him from the R5, designate him without waivers to remove him from your 40, assign him back to AAA and deactivate him for the season.
