Depends on if you signed the player or a SIM/other coach did.  Still a pretty negligible effect though.  Took my reputation from A+ to A.

On your SUNY Courtland team, yes their are some very weak players (poor athletes/defenders) that probaly should be cut.

I don't necessarily see much value in cutting seniors unless you are going to fill those spots.  You'll see money from them leaving at the same time regardless whether you cut them.

cutting players you recruited is worse than if they were simai. I'd expect a rep hit from A+ to around A- from 1 cut, B+ ish for 2 cuts... as I take an actual look at your team, you'd need to make like 5 cuts though to clean house...if you love SUNY Cortland (Go Dragons) and plan to stay there a long time, cut the scrubs, take the big rep hit and ride it out and start getting players that don't suck. If you are just using this as a stepping stone, don't cut anyone except yourself - next season get the hell out of there and find a new D III school with a lot of openings and recruit right at the new place and put this whole thing behind you...

the ath thing is bad, but its the combo of crappy ath and def that has me making that rec. Offensive cores for some of them are ok, but they will be severe liabilities on def and you will most likely lose a number of games...

Don't feel too badly about  your mistakes. Most of us have regrets.

For my first team, I decided that I'd only use slow tempo. Therefore, speed wasn't important. I forgot that you need speed on defense, too!   I think I had 5 guys with SP of 1.

I guess that sounded kinda harsh - I was just being straightforward - no offense intended...

I was about to ask this same question (also at D3 level, and yes I recruited him), but I have one RS frosh that didn't develop at all and really should be cut.

SO I'll take a slight hit on my rep and go from A+ to A- but what does that really affect? I've read that Prestige is the BIGGEST factor by far in the quality and ability to recruit.

If you're gonna stay, cut him.  Your Rep might drop to an A-, but when the next season rolls over, it'll go right back to an A+.  No harm, no foul.  Even at an A- Rep, you'll hardly notice a difference in recruiting, if you even see one at all.

My understanding is reputation doesn't impact recruiting, but rather job advancement.

I personally think prestige is important with recruiting, but it seems to make the most impact with how fast players will drop down to your school.  Meaning, if you are recruiting against a higher prestige school, the bigger factor is budget and proximity.  The school closer to the recruit and/or with the bigger budget can always out-effort a higher prestige school in most cases - such that prestige becomes a non-factor.

per CS reputation is a small factor in recruiting - but I wouldn't sweat a slight drop
