How much do I need to sign my amateur draft picks? Topic

I have the number 3 pick, and don't want to get into a situation where I can't sign them.  I also have an extra first at the end of round 1.  Thanks for the help, this is my first year!

A good indicator would be to look at the #3 pick of historical drafts in your world.

You can expect to need about $4 mil or maybe a little less to sign your top pick. 1st round compensation picks can go for as high as $1 mil to as low as around $500K so it depends on where exactly your comp pick is. And also if the players are not sure about signing then they will probably demand more. But I would have at least $5 mil handy to sign your top two picks.

something less than $4 mil if a guy indicates he will sign for slot, if a guy indicates that he may not sign, it may take upwards of just under $12 mil to sign that kind of draft pick.

Now if you should sign your #3 pick, that depends on the quality of the draft class.  In some class the #3 pick will end up being mearly OK, in other classes, the #3 pick may be a hall of famer.
