Back when I first found this site. Long before any of the dynasty leagues started. I was in a progressive sim baseball league. The guy that set it up had a token system. The more wins you got the more FA tokens you received. It was a great system. At the draft you say how long you signed the player for. And there was a cap on it. So every player would hit the FA market at some point. The FA part was done with a blind bid system in rounds. You can only bid the amount of tokens you had. And any player you did not get the token came back to you.
For the FA part there was a set number of tokens cost per year. And when FA started you really had to plan things. Sometimes every team would go for the big FA and you could pick up a guy cheap. Or if you bid on a few good players but did not really go for them. You would get all you tokens back and the player were off the market.
If anyone remembers or its still going. Please let me know.
Thanks
