I am a new coach to a D1 team, and I want to rescind all scholarships and start fresh. I don't remember what money a new D1 coach will get (this is my 3rd go at D1, got my hometown team), so will it be enough to get some low D1 recruits with potential (all classes) to carry me forward as I build this team?

You will not be allowed to cut the last 3.  When you try, you'll get a message from the AD telling you no.

The scholarship money would not be affected for this season anyhow.  You have 5 seniors and 1 walk-on.   So you get the funds for the full 6 schollies that you would be allowed.  I'd suggest keeping your 2 sophs and then choose 1 or 2 freshmen that you can stand.
