Looked at a few worlds and noted what the average SS was, then averaged those averages to make another average.

A normal SS makes 25 errors (.973) per 1400 innings and 6+plays. 
Simon will make about 38 errors (.955) per 1400 innings and 4-plays.

The difference is 23 plays below average. While significant, it flails in comparison to his offense above replacement level at that position. Also, it falls short in causing me to want to waste either his Arm or Glove at a different position.

I'm also curious if people are stumbling over his performance at Safeco? Thats an extreme pitchers park FYI to anyone who just casually looked at his stats...

there's a difference between open market value and intrinsic value.  in HBD, they quite often misalign and you're doing it wrong if you are completely disregarding the latter.

He's too dang expensive.  He's a great glove, 21 plus plays last year and a 3-time GG winner in CF before that......

But I think I would play Vega in CF and Simon at 2B.  Probably not an option right now...as you can't trade Picasso's salary.

But I would certainly trade to get Simon, if I could. And then I would stick him at 2B for the next 8 years.

An .800-.850 OPS 2B in Safeco is a heck of a thing to have.

But, I don't think you can get two top prospects for him, from most teams.  The right partner, who is ready to bust over the top, might make such a deal.....if one of them is an arm.
