Looked at a few worlds and noted what the average SS was, then averaged those averages to make another average.
A normal SS makes 25 errors (.973) per 1400 innings and 6+plays.
Simon will make about 38 errors (.955) per 1400 innings and 4-plays.
The difference is 23 plays below average. While significant, it flails in comparison to his offense above replacement level at that position. Also, it falls short in causing me to want to waste either his Arm or Glove at a different position.
I'm also curious if people are stumbling over his performance at Safeco? Thats an extreme pitchers park FYI to anyone who just casually looked at his stats...
I think you're right he may be better served at SS. If I drop Picasso I'll probably be playing him @ 2B again.
