I have 3 players for SS/CF/3B and I'm trying to figure out the best way to use them. I know none will be a great SS.

Player A - 77/86/86/86

Player B - 82/79/81/83

Player C - 89/77/79/80

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I would seriously consider trying to find a new SS.

Well, since you're 96-51 with that team, I would say you are doing just fine.

James (A) has a .962 fld % right now, with 1 plus play and only 4 minus plays.  He's suitable, combined with the fact that he has an OPS over 1.000 I would say just leave him there.  He's Babe Ruth, with a Derek Jeter glove, at SS. 

Moreno (C) did decently at AAA playing SS.  .945 but 41 plus plays and zero minus plays. 

Wilfredo (B) is just OK.

Sakamoto (91-91-94-92) is a guy who will win the GG almost every year, if you want to play him despite his bat...which is terrible. 

So James plays SS, Moreno plays CF, and Wilfredo plays 3B, just like you are doing right now.

A will be an unspectacular SS as far as plus plays who won't hurt you with errors but will probably have some minus plays and the best choice of the 3

B will not get many plus plays because of his low range but will have more errors so you don't want him at SS he would be a good 3B

C Will have a lot of plus plays at SS and a lot of errors he will be the guy who makes spectacular plays but boots the routine gound ball or makes a diving stop and then throws the ball away. He will be a better CF than SS in CF he will make the occasional error but should have a lot of plus plays

I get so ****** off when I see teams with a 80/80/80/80 ss win so many games

Yeah, it's kind of a no-brainer.

A is a slightly-below average SS, whereas the other two would be solidly "bad." C would be an average CF, while the other two would be below-average. And B would be a strong defensive 3B. If you combine the fielding production with that combination of 3 players, they would total an average or even slightly above-average combination. Every other combination would be terrible, except for A at 3B and B at SS, which wouldn't be a disaster, but would probably be slightly below-average on the aggregate.

Without looking at their offense...I agree with most:

A = SS  - He probably won't kill you and what he gets to he'll handle/throw well.
B = 3B - Should be a very solid 3B defensively
C = CF - I like range there. He's going to drop a few, but you may get enough + plays out of his arm to makeup for it.

If those guys are solid offensively you may just want to find one of those 90/90/90/90 guys with little bat and if you're lucky great speed and BR to use for defense, pinch running duties.

Yeah, I hate the Yankees, too. 

Actually, Jeter's closer to 70/85/85/85, but my point stands; if the bat plays you can sacrifice some glove, even at SS, even in real life.
