3-Era Progressive Needs 1 - Claimed Topic

The 3-Era Progressive is in it's 22nd season.  We lost an owner.  We need one ASAP as we will be drafting shortly.  You would be in the 1972 season.  See below for rules...

(FYI - If you are still managing the team in year 30, you will receive $50 back.)

General Concept & Costs
This progressive league will run for exactly 30 seasons. At the end of the 30th season, overall standings will be determined and prize money will be paid out. Cost is $150 per person. $50 is refunded at the end of year 30.

The Initial Season
Team names must be in “Year City Nickname” format, with the city corresponding to your ballpark selection. You will keep the same team name unless your ballpark moves cities, then it will change accordingly (i.e., the owner playing in Ebbets Field will change from 1957 Brooklyn XXX to 1958 Los Angeles YYY in 1958 and play in the LA Coliseum)

Playoffs and Prize Money
The playoffs will be modified so that the era champs play each other first (i.e., NL East winner vs. PL East winner). These are considered the World Series. The fourth playoff series will between the two wild card teams. The second and third round of the playoffs are only meaningful for the TOC qualification and WIS credits. The winner of the wildcard series plays the best team remaining.

The winners of the three first round “World Series” each receive $15 from the prize pool (30 seasons * $45 prize = $1350). These prizes will be paid out immediately. The remainder of the prize money will be paid out to the top three teams of each era after the 30 years are up. Prizes = $200, $100, $50 for first, second, third, respectively. ($1050). The point formula for ranking is # Reg. Season Wins + 10 pts for winning division + 15 pts for winning your era’s World Series (round 2 and round 3 playoff results do not come into play)

Standard Progressive League Rules
A player must have a WIS eligible season to be drafted. If a player misses one or more seasons, you can place him on IR until he plays again. You can protect any number of players up to 25. You can not trade draft picks further than two years into the future. You are allowed to make in-season trades but only with another team from your era. Collusion is illegal. The commissioner (me) will have the right to disallow trades that are deemed “not in the best interest of the league”.

Draft Rules for Future Years
The draft order for each successive season will be based on inverse order of record with the following exceptions. The World Series winner (i.e., winner of first round playoff series) will draft 8th and the other division winner will draft 7th - every round. In round 1, picks #1 and #2 are determined by a weighted lottery. Probability of landing top pick: 8th best record = 40%, 7th = 25%, 6th = 16%, 5th = 10%, 4th = 6%, 3rd = 3%. In round 1, picks #3 thru #6 will be determined by inverse order of record. So the #8 seed is guaranteed no worse than third overall pick. The draft order for rounds 2+ will be in inverse order of record so #8 seed will pick 9th, 17th, 25th, etc., regardless of where they drafted in round 1.

Clarification: You may make trades during the draft, but once the draft schedule is posted, no extra picks will be added or subtracted to the schedule. Trades during the draft must include an equal number of players/picks.
