A bunch of schools in one region - not yours Topic

I see some coaches with a bunch of teams - coach_dk comes to mind, as does jenningss - that share a common region (in both examples, the Pacific NW), and I've always just assumed that these guys live or are originally from the Pacific NW.  Likewise, I've always assumed that if I see a coach whose cross-world resume has him at Bentley, Post, UConn, Brandeis, and SCSU, he's from that part of the country.

But does anyone do this that doesn't have a RL connection to the region?  Are there any longtime Texans out there with HD gigs at FSU, Miami, and half of the Sunshine State Conference?  Or Chicagoans that now coach at San Diego State just because they liked how recruiting went for them at UCSC and Loyola Marymount?

I've tended toward teams in the Southeast although I live in Syracuse, NY. I did live in Tampa for a while...not quite sure how this happened...and not all my teams are in the SE, I've been in the NW, the midwest, NE, even Hawaii for a few seasons, but I have most of my teams in the SE now...

I tend to take jobs from near my place of origin (Indiana).  Now I live in NYC so I've taken some jobs in the area (right now I"m Stevens Tech from Hoboken, NJ in one world).  I currently have the following teams across all worlds:  Eastern Illinois, IUPUI, California Tech, Stevens Tech.  So you could say I've got the entire country covered.

I don't like to be more than 20 miles from an ocean.

Cal Poly (DII)
Rutgers (DI)
NYU (DIII)

Of my six teams, two are from my home state of Kentucky.  I also have Missouri, North Carolina, Maryland, and New Jersey

Of my four I have one in Wisconsin - Oshkosh (home state), one in Alabama (tuskegee), one in Texas (TCU) and one in North Carolina (W Car).  I don't want to run into the same teams in different worlds if possible. I don't even like scheduling my TCU team agains the W Carolina team in that world.  It just doesn't feel right.  At the moment I am just hoping to someday have a good enough run that I can get a Big 6 school in one of my two D1 worlds.

I have two teams. One is at San Francisco State which my step son graduated from.  The other team is Farleigh Dickenson Florham which has nothing to do with history but a team I've had for 55 seasons or so.

I am looking to getting Sacramento State for my D1 team because my daughter just graduated from there and we did go to some of the games.  And I will bet that I can take them to the Elite 8 within 8 seasons of getting there. The first few seasons are going to be quite tough and not good for my W/L record.

Doesn't clone have Iowa State in like 14 worlds?

I heard he isn't actually a fan, he just once made out with Larry Eustachy at a party and it changed his life.

Eustachy is a great kisser....so I have heard.

I like to coach teams in warm weather areas...I normally take my Mt. Olive teams to Hawaii every year for non-con against all 4 D2 Hawaiian teams (HI-Hilo, HI-Pacific, BYU-Hawaii, Chaminade).

I went from:

NY to NY to PA to CA to NC to VA to NC. And I'm from NJ.

So I pretty much just did a loop around my home state and randomly went to Cali for a vacation.

IRL, I'm from South Louisiana, and now live in Central TX. There's no geographical pattern to my five teams. I enjoy recruiting in different parts of the country, they provide different challenges.

Staten Island (DIII)
SUNY Fredonia (DIII)  - near Buffalo NY
S. Arkansas (DII)
Longwood (DII) - Central Virginia
Sonoma St. (DII) - Northern California.

I'm from New Jersey, so that's why I took Seton Hall in Smith, although that isn't working out too well for me right now lol.  Other than that I just happened to take DePauw randomly in my first season playing HD and so I've stuck to them permanently throughout.  Other than that I don't really have a specific region I stick to, though I do like the east coast, as I've coached teams such as Frostburg State, Farleigh Dickinson Florham, North Carolina Central, etc.

Iowa State, Stanford, Rutgers and left Michigan St. So... No.

Why don't one of you get a D3 team in Phelan in the WIAC?  We have 3 long term coaches, one great one (Pumphead).  We are right on the edge of being a great conference.
