William "Wild Bill" Farley

I don't know what to make of him.  He just dropped to AVG potential in ATH and LP, so he'll be going to 71 ATH and 54 LP.  He still has high potential in REB and SPD, so he'll be very fast for a post player with 70 ATH and 90+ Reb.  In general if I open up a player card and see, say 70 ATH, 45 SPD (based on the growth rate I doubt he has much more than the bottom end of high left in speed), 95 REB, I'm anticipating that this is an elite, dominant post player in D3.  But then you get to the rest of it.  He's avg in DEF and BLK, low in PER, BH, and Pass, and high in FT shooting.  So if he ends up at 50 DEF, 55 BLK, he's really not much more than an average defender in spite of his ATH and SPD.  Good, but by no means great.  And 54 LP with no PER, BH, or Pass means he'll probably be a 10 PPG guy at best, mostly on putbacks.  I won't want him to have too much distro because he'll be at best a mediocre shooter on shots in the flow of the game and prone to turnovers.

So what do you make of a D3 post with elite ATH/SPD/REB but averagish defense and below-average offense?  I don't know what to think of him.  One time I'll look at him and think "what a stud, I can't believe I got him for 2 HVs and a scholly," and then another I'll look at him and think I need to recruit better post players (which I do, but that's really not the point here).

He doesn't need anything more than 51 lp to be a dominant D3 scorer with that ath/spd.  Put him at PF and he will shoot 10 FT per game.

So basically, he's going to be a slightly worse defensively-speaking version of this guy: http://whatifsports.com/hd/PlayerProfile/Ratings.aspx?tid=0&pid=2075720. In other words, don't worry about it.

I'm surprised both by how much that guy is scoring and how little he's rebounding.

He spent last season starting alongside a 99 rebounder, so that without a doubt cut into his totals a little. Obviously this year's scoring is a little high (and rebounding a little low) because 1 game is the very definition of a small sample size - I was just trying to show you that a guy with almost identical offensive ratings to Farley's max can be a capable scoring option at DIII.

I was referring to last season.  Of course, that was under the assumption that the ratings were similar all of last year to what they are now.

Looks like a good post player for D3

Basically the same yes. He just about maxed out on everything except rebounding during the rollover to his senior year. For most games last season he and my PG were tied for 3rd among the starters in distro and he obviously did fine with that.

Do PF's draw more fouls than C's?

I don't think so, but speed is more of a factor at PF than C.  With that speed, I would be taking advantage as much as possible.
