My Drew team (DII Naismith) is a B prestige. Even though I've won three NTs, my recent resume includes a 1st round loss and two PIT bids. So I have no problem with 'B' prestige until I compare it to other schools
AMHERST
Went from C to B after going 28-2 and losing in the first round. They only played 4 teams in the top 150 and had a SOS of 341. In the last 7 seasons, they were 59-131 with no NT games in 26 years. Three seasons ago, they were 0-27
COLDEY-SAWYER
Went from C to B after going 25-6 and losing in the 2nd round. This is their 1st NT appearance in 51 years (that's not a typo..51)
How can this happen? In determining prestige at DII and DIII, WIS counts the current season as worth 4 times more than any other season. Thus, we have these surprising jumps after one season.
Seble says I'm the only coach who's ever written him about DII and DIII prestige and, thus, sees no reason to change it.
If you think the value of the current season should be reduced, please send in a ticket. Also, please post here that you've done so.
