How long does it usually take after applying for a new job to see if you got the job?
If the world just opened for jobs today, there's an initial window before hires are announced (24 hours, I think) to allow everyone a chance to submit their name for any jobs they may want. After that first day, I think it just depends as to how good/bad a fit you are and whether anyone else has applied for the same spot that determines how quickly you hear back.
